I don't think it is fair that students are not allowed to use the computer lab during Study Hall. For example, my study hall is during F period, and there are a lot of kids in there that go to the library, and sometimes I will go into the library and all of the computers will be taken, and yet there is a completely empty computer lab that we are not allowed to use. That seems foolish to me, and I think that should be changed.

More books on more subjects... more copies of books

Students should be able to use the study room that only teachers are allowed to use. I have never seen any teachers in there and there are only two study rooms for the students' use.

Library should be opened during the weekend, including whole day of Saturday and Sunday. Dorm is not a good place to study.

More books just for reading

Increase the amount of computers and space for group study. The most IMPORTANT increase the hours of operation!!!

If possible, I would like more group study areas. Otherwise, this library is wonderful, especially for a high school one.
Note: the Arts and Technologies building is for art project work, not our pristine library.

Upper School Day

The black chairs are extremely uncomfortable. I know they're probably expensive, but they hurt when you have to sit at a computer for a long time doing research or typing a paper. I suggest cushions or something. Some type of alternative ..

There certainly aren't enough books, and occasionally the library is just randomly locked even during the hours of operation.

Bringing the Couch back!!

Computers open all the time. there is always research to do, and papers to write. it would be really great if the lab was always open.

More helpful staff, more computers in the main room and stricter noise restrictions for classes and individual student

Personally, I'd recommend limiting the scope of the WebSence program, when trying to do research in the library many sites that are helpful are blocked under false pretense. At least create a tunnel that library staff can use at student request (after approval of course).

Middle School Boarding

It will be better if middle schoolers can use the library more often. And I think we need more books

I think the library should open during the weekend too, for the boarding student. ( Saturday )

None I think everything is fine the way it is.

I would like to see more pleasure books in the middle school section. It also would be nice to have more comfortable seating such as a couch.

More books that you can read for fun

I think that they should have some book sections like "Action" or "Adventure" and "Dictionaries". Labels like that would be really helpful to find books that I would like to read.

It was too difficult for me to find the book I was looking for because the location was wrong and the "map" didn't work. Also, the lady at the front desk dind't even try to help me even though I asked her for help.

More computer games

I think there should be more variety in the books.

I hardly ever get to go to the library. I wish there was some way to change this because I really like the library.

Middle School Day

I don't usually use the library so I don't think there should be any changes

More computers because when I need to work on a project on the computer or something i cant because they are all full. also m ore chairs or something because there aren’t enough during study hall

I would love to see some more pleasure books in the middle school pleasure section. Almost any books would make a good change.

I don't really know much about the library. I don't go there that much, so I guess I don't want anything changed.

MORE BOOKS!! !Books about religion, and not just Christianity! Have books of more varied nature, books on all subjects, history, philosophy, and mythology! Get FEAST FOR CROWS( GEORGE R MARTIN)!

More books for middle schoolers.

Also you have parts of series, but some aren't even the first book, like Abhorson. Need more computers, or let the study halls use the computer lab.

Faculty

The library is a wonderful facility, but the volume number seems a bit low. It would also be nice to see the collection of fiction books increased. As a boarding/day school it would seem that we would want to encourage leisure reading for all members of the school community. Thank you.

More chairs scattered around for individual reading - wing chairs particularly.

Must put shutters or blinds on windows to control light, especially in computer lab.

DVDs,VHS, etc. that are located in with collection are difficult to find. Would be better to have separate movie collection.

Updates with lists of new materials coming in would be very helpful.

Need study tables upstairs.

Bathroom upstairs should be unlocked during school day.

Need more clocks in various locations around the library to help students keep better track of time.

More study areas for students are vital, but I would make do by telling groups on honors to use the grill, and make the grill more appealing to use.

Strict enforcement of quiet in main area is vital. Rules of library conduct should be posted prominently.

Lighting of stacks upstairs is somewhat poor.

I would like to see us continue to grow our collection. Other than that I think we have an amazing library

The current filing system makes it difficult to locate books on the shelves. I would also like to see an expanded print section along with periodicals.

More computer work stations so that all of my students will have a computer when we use the library computer room.

Encouragement of faculty who follow proper sign up procedures to use the LCR and who use it often.

Proper use of the expertise of the RGNS faculty who have actually worked in major university libraries as paid professionals and could therefore be of great service to the students of RGNS as well as the rest of the faculty and the staff. Additionally, the hiring of a full time Librarian with an MLS from the University of Maryland to run the middle school library and to build up the collection as a whole. The use of MOW people to cover the library (unless they are skilled library professionals) does not help our students.

Additional work stations for individual or tutoring situations.

I would like to see a more helpful and proactive staff. I would also like to see students using the reference materials more, as well as the other materials. At the very least, students should be learning how to do research in a library, beyond what is on the computers. They will need to learn good research skills to succeed in college.

The tables are too high and not a smooth surface for work. Study carrolls(sp?) would be a great addition.

I would like to see the south facing windows covered either with blinds, or tinting which would prevent direct sunlight from accessing the materials. This will degrade them more quickly.

Staff

I really don’t have any. I really like the library. It is a quiet place where the girls in my dorm can go and study...I have no complaints!

Inadequate staffing for number of students served. Poor support from academic staff supporting students using library. Inconsistent supervision standards by MOW supervisors.

We need more comfortable chairs and couches to read and study on!!!! It is very clean but very uncomfortable in the library.

I really don’t have a lot of time during the day to go to the library. It seems like a nice place but the last time i was really there and looked around at it was the first day of school. I will try to go more often though.

Please put the Leather couch back upstairs. I really liked that couch, and now you have uncomfortable chairs. Thanks
