The Legacy Walkway Lives!

The first installation of engraved bricks was placed at the Alumni Heritage Center last week and it looks fantastic! Carol Dickerson Dunbar ’52, Jim Darnell ’57, and Bev Guthrie Lougher ’58 (pictured below L-R) are to be commended for their leadership on this project! Continuous installations will take place until all bricks have been sold. See below for information on how to be a part of this special piece of RGNS history in the making.

Alumni Work Day – Saturday, May 3....Walkway projects and other sprucing up at the AHC!
Work starts at 8 am. If you have them - bring gloves, yard tools, maybe even a flat of flowers. Pot luck lunch at noon.

From the Executive Committee...
The Executive Committee of the RGNS Alumni Association has accepted the resignation of Keith Sutherland ’75 as president, effective August 30, 2007. As per Alumni Association bylaws, vice-president George Freemon ’71 shall assume the presidency for the reminder of the term. The Executive Committee thanks Keith for his dedication and service to the Alumni Association.

Homecoming 2008…June 6-8, 2008

Important Note regarding Legacy Walkway brick orders…Orders received prior to March 1 will be installed prior to Homecoming Weekend 2008. The Walkway is an ongoing project and will have multiple installations (approx. twice yearly) until complete.

Now you can create a lasting tribute to those who are part of the history of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School. The RGNS Alumni Association has partnered with the School to sponsor a campaign to create a Legacy Walkway at the Alumni Heritage Center.

The Legacy Walkway, a beautiful brick-lined pathway, is the perfect way to recognize a friend or loved one, congratulate a recent graduate or pay tribute to a teacher, forever carving these names into the lore of RGNS. The purchase of a memorial brick will fund the Walkway and will also support other RGNS Alumni Association projects.
